Medjugorje is a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It’s been a place of Catholic pilgrimage since the Virgin Mary’s apparition on the hill Podbrdo in 1981 to a small group of children. There is a Queen of Peace statue marking the site of the first apparition and one in front of the St. James Church. Liquid has been said to drip from the “Risen Christ” statue near the church. A concrete cross tops Cross Mountain, to the south. The village still is a place of serenity. The weather is sunny and calm.
Arrives at Dubrovnik or Split Airport in Croatia and travel by road towards Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina accompanied by our English speaking guide.
Check in at the hotel.
Rosary prayer at St James Church in the evening. Our Lady has requested the prayer of the Rosary, since the early years of the apparitions. She desires us to pray not just one mystery a day, but the whole complete Rosary, meaning all four mysteries, the Joyful, the Luminous, the Sorrowful and the Glorious.
Holy Mass for English-speaking pilgrims is at 10.00 am in the church of St. James. Following mass there will be an opening meeting and introduction at the shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace. Continue to the Statue of the Risen Lord for a prayer service.
Meet with your guide at the statue of Our Lady to walk through the vineyards, to the Hill of Apparition. Listen to the story of the first days of the apparitions and then climb, in prayer, to the site of the first apparition.
In the morning, visit the Blue Cross, at the base of Apparition Hill, a very place of many Apparitions of Our Lady. This evening, after dinner you may take part in the evening ceremonies.
Climb up the Cross Mountain (Krizevac), there we will pray the Stations of the Cross as we make our way to the summit. Visit The Mothers Village.
We return for dinner, followed by the evening services at 6pm.
After dinner, meet at St. James for the evening programme
After the morning prayers or Holy Mass depart for the airport for your return flight
